Memories of past are recurrent.
Playing sports and doing things we love come and go as the seasons change: baseball and softball is a spring and fall sport, while swimming is done during the summer. These sports and activities allow and outlet for those doing it to be happy—no matter their age.
As we get older and watch the world change before our eyes, we notice that many people do not utilize these recreational spaces anymore; these places of fun are being left alone and forgotten. The boundaries of life have influenced the amount of en plein air gratification people have, and I intend to revisit the places that brought me joy as a child to discover why.
To capture this typology, I flew a drone 150 feet above each of these territories and placed them in the center of the frame. Later, to abstract the work, I made each image into a square. The intangible perception of the images creates a sense of detachment that reflects the detachment we feel from these spaces of childhood release.
